Sub-pixel resolution image analysis sensors are being developed at ASH. This technique utilizes a novel computational imaging technique that provides extremely accurate measurement of the position of a point on an object such as a structure relative to a video camera observing the structure. This technique has been demonstrated to be capable of resolving down to 1/1,000 of a pixel in positional accuracy and can provide detailed vector motion data on the movement of the chosen target point. This provides ASH with a non-contact method of monitoring any structure and mapping its vibration and motion in real-time.
